That Yahweh really was a petty God, wasn't he?
Cold Steel, when you become a Mormon God promise us you'll be a little more magnanimous than that spoiled brat Yahweh.
jesus said: .
verily i say unto you, all sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme: but he that shall blaspheme against the holy ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation.
(mark 3:28-29).

Probably manslaughter.
well, i have been studying jws religion ,my cousin is a jw and i have visited him a lot of times.i have watched his way of living and things like that.i have been at the district convention last week.i read so many things from both sides.i came to the conclusion that if someone believes god exists then it is so easy and he should be a jehovah's witness.sadly its true and that is why so many people are and every year they baptised even more.. stories about jws reducing?wrong.. facing problems?
false.. everybody in the convention had an ipad ,iphones etc with the bible in it.
+ wifi .

A person does not need to join a religious cult to believe in or worship God.
It aint that bad to be a jehovah's witness.
Except for people born into the group who risk losing family and friends if they don't submit their loyalty and obedience to the imperfect men on the Governing Body.
If they find a solution to be isolated from worldy people no one will have problem.
You mean like living on some sort of a compound? Why specifically do you think they need to isolate themselves from those outside their group? Again, you're making an assumption that no one would ever want to leave the group, otherwise being isolated would most certainly be a problem.
I hear there's cheap land in Jonestown, Guyana. With a little landscaping I'm sure they could have it looking like "paradise" in no time.
the jw's are taking it a little too far.
people have to wait in line and be tortured by the sight of this.. .
I ran into two JWs with a similar table awhile back. Instantly my heart rate shot up from the anticipation of approaching them. But I actually had about an hour and a half until my next appointment so I decided I would go up to them. The conversation started off simple, I eventually told them I had a friend that was an ex-JW. I obviously needed some kind of cover as to why I knew so much about the practices and history of their Cult.
My presence at their table certainly prevented curious people walking by from getting the full sales pitch. I was asking very difficult questions that raised the eyebrows of the few people that stopped while I was there.
After a slow progression of increasingly difficult questions, it became quite evident that these JWs would have preferred to be anywhere else but right there at that moment. But it's not so easy to pack up a whole table of books and run simply because someone is asking polite, yet very tough questions.
At one point the middle-aged JW women got up from the table and shook my hand saying, "It was nice to talk to you". Clearly she was trying to indicate to me to go away. Playing dumb, I responded, "It's been nice talking to you as well", and resumed asking questions of the other JW.
So while some may think these tables are annoying, others see them as a gift.
last friday and saturday i saw the new manhattan project carts in a few places in london.. one, smack back in the middle of the street outside one of the busy central london train stations is asking for trouble!
situating it in the middle of the pavement!?!
are they crazy?
I love the idea. This way people can actually go up to them and ask tough questions about the Watchtower cult. Seriously, what are the odds that they'll knock on the door of someone that truly knows exactly what they teach? And at the door if they encounter someone that knows too much about their religion they can walk away and claim the householder didn't have the right heart condition. On the street, people can easily walk up to them and start asking them difficult questions, or even drop bits of information about their precious organization that they might not even be informed of.
Cults thrive on information control and isolation of the followers. I'm not sure what the Governing Body was thinking when they approved this project.
watch out for armageddon it is going to be numbing to human sensibilities:.

i guess he's thinkin jehovah's gonna roast them like a hot dogs burned to a charred ruination over a fire.

As an agnostic, I'm very troubled by this particular school employees attempt at censorship. With that said, there is clearly a market in media for what I'd call "outrage news". Whereby a story is utilized by some to stir outrage in a specific audience. (Case in point, the poster above alluding to a violent revolution)
From reading the actual news story it's apparent that the prohibition of wearing religious symbols is not the official policy of Sonoma State University. I do appreciate Miss Jarvis (the cross-wearing student) coming forward and reporting this incident. Hopefully this will motivate the University to ensure such censorship does not happen in the future.
By the way, your thread title is misleading. The student was told to remove the symbolic jewelry by a University employee, not the "University". Some may accuse me of splitting hairs, by I believe it to be an important distinction in order to get an accurate picture of what occurred so that we can formulate intelligent and thoughtful observations instead of emotional, knee-jerk reactions.
"University spokeswoman Susan Kashack confirmed to Fox News that the incident occurred and expressed extreme regret.
"Someone who works here was concerned that the cross might be off-putting to students who are coming to campus for the first time," she said, adding that the supervisor was "completely wrong."
"It was absolutely an inappropriate action for him to make that request of her," she said.
Kashack said Sonoma State President Ruben Arminana was "angered" by the incident and they are trying to contact Jarvis so they can apologize.
"The president was very upset about it and asked me to contact Miss Jarvis and give a profuse apology," she said.
She said they have spoken with the employee involved in the incident but won't reveal the contents of their discussion or whether he was punished.
"Things like this don't happen here," she said. "It's very unusual. People here are very aware of discrimination. It's possible that political correctness got out of hand."
i have basically thrown away all of my bound volumes and loose wt and awake magazines.
i kept some bpoks, the insight to the scriptures, god's love, the reasoning book, and daniel's prophecies (this was my favorite) .
i held onto insight to the scriptures after reading some of ray franz's book, crisis of conscience.
When was 'Prince of Peace' published? Is it on the cd-rom?
1986, and it's on the cd-rom under the title Worldwide Security. On the cd-rom, the relevant quote about "Mediator" is on page #11.
I had a JW relative claim that the passage about Jesus not being his Mediator is old truth. He simply had never heard of it, and therefore concluded that is must not be current truth. (Which is actually a fairly logical assumption)
I had to tactfully explain to him that Watchtower "truth" is valid until another truth comes out that changes it, regardless of its age.
this organization is diferent than most, in the sense that we dont take directions from the outside world.
its like a galaxy.
the sun is in the center giving of energy, and everything revolves around it.
Context helps. The "organization" he's speaking of is his musical organization that's required for touring and recording.
Note to Prince: the sun is not at the center of the galaxy.

I enjoy having a hard copy of Worldwide Security Under the "Prince of Peace", where on pg. #10 it clearly states Jesus is not the Mediator for the Great Crowd.
Why? Because many JWs don't even know that's what they're required to believe or else face disfellowshipping.
